Text Messaging Terms

Last updated June 25, 2026.

NestWatch helps home-watch businesses keep property owners informed by text message. This page explains how our SMS program works. It supplements, and does not replace, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Who sends the messages

When you receive a text related to a property, it is sent by the independent home-watch operator who manages that property, using NestWatch as their software provider. The operator is responsible for the relationship with you and for obtaining your consent before texting you.

What messages we send

The program sends service messages tied to your property and account, such as:

  • Inspection and visit updates
  • Scheduling notices and reminders
  • Billing and invoice notifications
  • Replies to messages you send your operator

These are transactional, service-related messages. We do not sell your phone number, and the program is not used to send marketing on behalf of third parties.

How consent works

You are only added to the program after your home-watch operator confirms you agreed to receive texts at the number on file — for example through a signed service agreement, a recorded verbal request, or by opting in through your homeowner portal. The disclosure presented at opt-in reads:

By opting in you agree to receive service text messages (inspection updates, scheduling, and billing notices) from your home-watch company at the number provided, including messages sent via automated systems. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help or STOP to unsubscribe.

Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service. You can decline texts and still receive every other part of your home-watch service by email.

Message frequency & rates

Message frequency varies based on activity at your property and your account — there is no fixed number of messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. NestWatch and your operator do not charge you for receiving these texts.

How to opt out (STOP)

You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP to any message. We will send one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive further texts at that number unless you opt back in. Because we use a shared sending number, replying STOP unsubscribes that phone number across the program.

To resume texts after opting out, reply START. For help, reply HELP and you will receive support contact information. You can also ask your operator to update your communication preferences directly.

Privacy

Mobile information collected for the SMS program — including your phone number and consent record — is used only to operate the messaging program and is not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information.
