Home watch is a trust business. The software shouldn't get in the way.

NestWatch started with a summer job and a friend's frustration. Our founder, David, has spent twenty years building software for overlooked industries: hands-on, important work that never gets tools built to fit it. In the summer of 2025, a good friend of his was running a home watch business in northern Arizona. He loved the work: flexible, outdoors, always moving. The nights were the problem. Most of them went to the kitchen table: piecing reports together from photos, writing emails, sending invoices.

With never enough time, the problem houses got all the attention. The quiet, all-clear homes heard from him least. Exactly backwards, because those owners are the ones wondering whether anyone came by at all. Patchy communication, homeowners out of the loop, and a business owner spending every evening on the part of the job he liked least.

So David learned the job the only honest way: by doing it. That summer, he and his two sons took on home watch as their summer job: the family's place, plus homes for friends and family. Phoenix in July means empty houses, glad for the eyes on them. Walking the properties, taking the photos, and writing the reports himself showed him exactly where the day falls apart, and what it would take to fix it.

NestWatch grew out of that summer: rooted in helping a friend, shaped by doing the work firsthand. One place to run the visits, draft the reports, keep every homeowner in the loop, and get paid, without the late-night busywork. Growing a home watch business shouldn't mean stitching spreadsheets to dated software. So we built the modern version, from real experience, with AI and a thoughtful workflow at its core.
