Export your workspace data

Request a ZIP of workspace records and original uploaded files, then check its status and download before it expires.

Who can request an export

A workspace owner or admin can request a data export on any plan. The export does not cancel your subscription, delete workspace data, or change who can sign in.

The labels match the Data & exports page. The example status is illustrative, not a real workspace export.

Request and download the ZIP

  1. Open Settings → Data & exports.
  2. Read the sensitive-data notice. The archive contains customer details and property access instructions; store it securely and limit access to people who need it.
  3. Select “I understand this download contains sensitive workspace data,” then choose “Download all workspace data.”
  4. Preparation runs in the background. You can leave Settings and return later to check the export history.
  5. When the status says “Ready to download,” choose Download ZIP. Save the archive somewhere secure before the displayed expiration time.

The archive contains CSV and JSON records for properties, homeowners, equipment, visits, checklists, reports, vendors, tasks, communications, proposals, approvals, and billing. A manifest connects included photos and documents to their records.

Understand partial exports and file coverage

  • NestWatch includes original stored files. Files hosted outside NestWatch are listed in the manifest but are not fetched.
  • If a stored file is missing, the export is marked partial and the missing-file count is shown. Download the partial archive if useful, then review manifest.json for the missing references.
  • Automatically generated PDFs are represented by their source records; the export does not create new PDF copies.
  • Passwords, portal login links, integration secrets, and payment-card details are excluded.

Status, expiration, and size limits

The export history shows whether a request is queued, being prepared, ready, partial, failed, or expired. A ready download expires 24 hours after completion. Request no more than three exports per day.

Automatic exports support up to 100,000 records per table, 150 MB of record data, 100 MB per file, and 2 GB total uncompressed data. Contact NestWatch support for a larger export or help interpreting a failed or partial result.

Tip · A data export is a copy of workspace records and stored original files, not a backup that can be restored into a new NestWatch workspace with one click.
