Add NestWatch to your phone or tablet

Install NestWatch or your homeowner portal for one-tap, full-screen access without an app store.

Last updated August 27, 2026

NestWatch runs in your web browser, but operators and homeowners can add it to a home screen so it opens like a regular app. There is nothing to download from an app store.

Tip · Open the destination you use first. Operators should sign in at nestwatch.ai. Homeowners should open their secure portal link and let it finish opening the portal before adding it to the home screen.

Make sure you're on the right address

Operators should open nestwatch.ai and sign in. Homeowners should open the secure link sent by their home watch provider, wait for it to open the portal, and then install. The installed icon uses the secure portal entry and the trusted session already established on that device.

iPhone and iPad (Safari)

  1. Open NestWatch or your secure homeowner portal in Safari. Add to Home Screen works from Safari, not Chrome or a link opened inside another app.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, or the top-right on iPad.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The NestWatch icon appears on your home screen. Operators return to NestWatch; homeowners return to the secure portal.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open NestWatch or your secure homeowner portal in Chrome.
  2. If a banner offers to install NestWatch, tap it. Otherwise tap the menu, the three dots in the top-right.
  3. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen, then confirm with Install or Add.
  4. The NestWatch icon appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.

The one-tap shortcut inside NestWatch

When you're signed in, the Help & Support page shows an Add NestWatch to your home screen card. On Android you can install with a single tap from there; on iPhone and iPad it shows the same Safari steps as above. Once the app is installed, the card disappears on that device.

What you get once it's installed

  • One tap opens NestWatch at its secure entry. Operators continue to their dashboard, while homeowners continue to their portal.
  • It runs full screen, like a native app, with no browser bars in the way.
  • Your sign-in or trusted portal session is remembered on that device.
  • It keeps loaded visits working offline in the field: checklists, notes, photos, and completion save on the device, then upload once you're back online.

Before a remote visit

Installing the shortcut makes field access faster, but it does not preload every future visit. Open the visit while you still have service, then use the offline fieldwork guide for the two-minute airplane-mode check and the exact connection boundaries.

Troubleshooting

  • Don't see Add to Home Screen on iPhone or iPad? Make sure you opened the page in Safari, not Chrome or a link inside another app like Gmail or Messages.
  • On Android, use Chrome, because other browsers may not offer the install option.
  • If the icon opens to a sign-in screen, just sign in once. It will remember you after that.
Tip · If a homeowner's trusted session has expired or the browser's site data was cleared, the icon asks for a fresh secure link. Request one with the email address the provider has on file.
